Tamika Tretu is a mission-driven education and nonprofit leader with deep experience expanding opportunity for students and communities that have been historically underrepresented in education and STEM. Her work has consistently centered equity, excellence, and joyful learning across classrooms, schools, and national nonprofit organizations.
Most recently, Tamika served as Vice President of Programs at Black Girls Code, where she led national strategy and program execution to reach girls across multiple cities through computer science, leadership, and STEM experiences. She has led large-scale initiatives, cross-functional teams, and partner networks while keeping student impact at the center of the work.
Earlier in her career, Tamika served as a teacher and PK–5 principal in the Bronx, New York, giving her firsthand understanding of what students, families, and educators need to thrive. She also served for more than eight years as an adjunct graduate professor, coaching aspiring and current educators as they pursued advanced degrees and leadership growth.
