Maria Kaval is a Director of Engineering at Meta (formerly Facebook) with over 20 years of experience. At Meta, Kaval is responsible for the Performance, Usability, and Architecture of the Facebook App and serves on the Facebook Engineering Council. Born in Sweden, and raised in Newark, California, Kaval earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University. She is a long-time resident of Menlo Park, CA and lives there with her husband and two daughters.
