Maria Kaval is a Vice President of Engineering at Oracle Corporation with over 20 years experience. She started her career as a software engineer at Siebel Systems, and after Siebel Systems was acquired by Oracle in 2005, she has held various positions in Software Development at Oracle, recently focusing on UI Development for the Cloud. At Oracle, Kaval is also a Community Leader for the Oracle Women’s Leadership initiative and helps lead up Oracle’s participation in the American Heart Association Heart Walk. Kaval holds 4 patents in the area of Software Engineering.
In her spare time, Kaval is a Girl Scout leader, focused on empowering girls, via camping trips, STEM projects, and community service to help them grow up to be compassionate, courageous and confident. She plans to take her Girl Scout troop to London in the summer of 2017.
Born in Sweden, and raised in Newark, California, Kaval earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University. She is a long-time resident of Menlo Park, CA and lives there with her husband and two daughters.
