Skyline High School

Remember how badly you wanted your driver's license when you were in high school? Well, the girls in the Techbridge program at Skyline high school have gotten a jump start. These girls have started studying cars & engines and will be experts on how a car works by the time they get behind the wheel. The girls have already built their own model cars whose motors run on solar power and will soon be getting under the hood of a car so that they can understand exactly how a car engine works.

The Techbridge girls at Skyline have a strong sense of how they can use science and technology to help make the world a better place. Throughout our different projects, the girls often find themselves brainstorming ways to save energy and coming up with ideas to make things more efficient. This year the girls will have an opportunity to take a field trip to Amyris Biotechnologies where they will get to learn about how to create renewable fuels. The type of innovative thinking that the girls at Skyline do as part of their projects will certainly help lead us to scientific solutions for making the world a better place.
