The Techbridge program at Madison Middle School is in its third year and is off to a strong start! Just like last year, eighth grade science teacher Agnes Marcelo has been working hard on recruiting girls and getting the word out about this special after-school opportunity. As a result, not only do we have returning Techbridge students from last year, but we have many new girls who are joining Techbridge for the first time. Once the girls discover what interesting projects and activities they get to do in Techbridge, they often recruit their friends to come along and join in the fun.

This year the girls at Madison have started off learning how to solder. The girls had a chance to use their soldering techniques to design and create an electronic buzzer game board.  In another project the girls created solar jars which taught them about how solar energy works.  This year the girls will get to work on a range of science and technology projects that include designing rockets, creating their own claymation videos, and taking a field trip to the San Francisco Water Agency.
