The girls at Lincoln are excited to finally be old enough to join Techbridge after seeing older sisters, friends, and cousins go through the program!  With support from the Techbridge teachers, Rob Fong and Cyndee Lim, we started off the year with design challenges to introduce the girls to the concepts of teamwork, creative thinking, and problem solving that are so important in Techbridge.  The girls loved learning about different types of bridges and building them out of K’NeEX, and thoroughly enjoyed building domes out of gumdrops and toothpicks.

The girls are learning about computer science as they  prepare for a trip to Yahoo!.  Girls were introduced to HTML and had the chance to make their own web pages.  Soon, they will create animations using the Scratch software.  The girls are also looking forward to the Green Design unit, where they will learn about green materials and environmentally friendly building, and ultimately build their own green rooms in shoeboxes.

The Lincoln girls are always ready for new challenges that come their way, so check back for updates on projects and trips!
