The Techbridge girls at Glenbrook don’t lack energy or enthusiasm when it comes to designing and working as engineers. The year started off with some challenging design challenges like Radioactive Golf Balls and Float-a-Boat. Through hard work and team work, the girls came up with some creative designs for boats. Their design had to withstand waves, go the distance, and still float with 50 passengers (pennies) to prove it was seaworthy.
Now it’s all about circuitry and soldering! The girls are proving they are electrical engineers by designing circuit boards with electrical components. They will finish the soldering unit by making a working version of an electrical buzzer board game. They will even get to make an LED animal to share with their family. This year is filled with great new challenges, and the girls from Glenbrook are having fun and learning from each other. This program is supported with funds from Chevron.
