The girls at Fred T. Korematsu Discovery and Esperanza Academies can tell you there is much more to a digital camera than point, click, and shoot. The girls are beginning their school year by learning about digital photography through the construction of their very own pin-hole cameras. This activity will help the girls understand the basic components of cameras.

The girls are also learning about digital prints and working on activities that will help them understand pixels and resolution. Taking pictures is always a favorite Techbridge activity and the girls are learning tips for taking good pictures. The girls get to use this digital photography knowledge when they take pictures of themselves, their friends, and their schools. The girls enjoy the opportunity to explore this new technology and return with great pictures. The next step in their digital exploration is downloading their pictures and designing their own Techbridge T-shirt using their photos and Microsoft PowerPoint. The girls look forward to wearing them in Techbridge programs and fieldtrips.
