Girl Scouts of Northern California
In their second year of the partnership with Techbridge, Girls Scouts of Northern California have used the boxes in a variety of different settings and programs. Several troops have checked out the Girls Go Techbridge boxes and modified them to fit their schedules. “I love the versatility the boxes provide our troops," said a troop leader. Leaders can choose from a variety of different projects to fit their troop’s needs and schedules.
The Girls Go Techbridge boxes have also been successfully used as part of an afterschool program in four middle schools in San Francisco bay area. The girls love learning about circuitry and soldering through the assembly of a blinking LED robot, learning all about the engineering design process while building their own catapult, and exploring the benefits of green construction through green design.

The Girl Scouts of Central Texas have used the boxes in several troops and the feedback from the troops has been enthusiastic. “I love the fact that everything is located in one box. This makes my job so much easier” said a troop leader.
They have been using the boxes in a variety of ways with community partners. Special one-day events have been extremely successful in bringing Girl Scouts and role models together. The Girl Scouts of Central Texas have partnered with the Society of Women Engineers to host a one-day event with the Make it Green boxes where 56 Girl Scouts were able design green studios of their own. One SWE volunteer shared, “I love Techbridge. We don’t have to develop programs any longer. This organization has done it for us.”

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland
This year Techbridge is excited to be partnering with Girl Scouts of Central Maryland to bring the Girls Go Techbridge curriculum to the East Coast. The hands on activities and detailed leader guides have helped to energize many of the leaders and inspire those who may have shied away from doing a science based unit with their girls. One leader shared, “I am science and technology challenged and I found this program easy to follow along and I feel confident in teaching the girls.”
Eager to begin sharing the hands-on science and engineering curriculum, Maryland has exciting plans for how to reach a wide range of girls. In January, they led their first all day event using the Design Time boxes. Girls had an opportunity to use the Engineering Design Process to create catapults and work in different career roles in the Bubble Design activity. In addition to the January event, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland will be hosting all day events for the Make it Green and Power it Up boxes as well as looking to use some of the curriculum during week-long summer camps.

The Girls Scouts of West Central Florida has been busy setting the stage for what promises to be the beginning of fun and engaging science and engineering learning amongst Girl Scouts all over West Central Florida. Over 30 adults have been trained on the hands-on activities and career resources offered by program boxes and are ready to begin bringing these resources to their community. Several troops have already checked out and used the materials in the Power it Up, Make it Green, and Design Time program boxes.
This is only the beginning because this spring and summer is guaranteed to be full of exciting evening and all day events – from the “Inspector Gadget” event where girls will enjoy a night of tinkering as they explore various careers in science and engineering through hands-on projects to the “Girl Today, Design Diva Tomorrow” event where girls will study the process of design engineering.
