The new Techbridge program at Rocketship Mateo Sheedy Charter School is off to a great start. The Mateo Sheedy girls welcomed the Si Se Puede girls as they utilized the Engineering Design Process to help them design and advertise a new, “must have” kitchen tool. They tested their myth-busting skills as they worked to apply Newton’s First Law of Motion to unravel the mysteries behind how to remove a tablecloth in one quick motion or to solve an egg obstacle challenge. They moved on to Electrical Engineering. They explored circuitry concepts using Snap Circuits, unraveling the mystery behind a tilt switch lantern, and perfected their soldering skills, designing and building their own electric game boards. The girls are excited to meet Google role models who will teach the girls about computer engineering.
