The girls at Washington Manor have been learning all about electrical engineering--they soldered their own circuits to light LEDs.

They visited the Cisco campus. There, the girls met women engineer role models, who taught them how the internet works through routers and switches.

A role model from UC Berkeley visited, and taught the girls about medication absorption rates and how to improve them. During her visit, she and the girls discussed polymers and concocted bouncy balls.

The girls have also built gumball machines and ginger bread houses, and are looking forward to learning about structural engineering and food chemistry.
