Board of Directors


Alex Zwissler is Executive Director/CEO of Chabot Space & Science Center, a position he has held since 2007.  Prior to joining Chabot, he was Executive Director of the Fort Mason Foundation from 1999 to 2006 following a 17-year career in the cable television and telecommunications industry, during which time he was the Director of ComTel. Alex was born in Stuttgart, Germany and raised in Oakland. He received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of California at Berkeley. In addition to enjoying an active lifestyle with his family, Alex serves in the leadership of both local and national non-profits, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Market Street Railway, Tau Kappa Epsilon at UC Berkeley, and the Non Profit Centers Network. In 2008, he was named an inaugural Fellow of the Noyce Leadership Institute.

Amy Connors is an Aerospace Systems Engineer at Stellar Solutions, and has been working in the Aerospace industry for the past 14 years.  She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.  Amy has worked on the hardware and software design, as well as the manufacturing and testing for a variety of satellite programs, including projects for NASA, commercial companies (for satellite television), and the US government and military.  Outside of work, Amy is an active volunteer for a variety of organizations and schools that promote science and technology to students of all ages.  Amy was an active Girl Scout growing up, and continues to support this organization as a volunteer in a variety of ways, including helping the Girls Go Tech program.  Amy has been a role model for the Techbridge program for the past five years and has done volunteer teaching at a variety of schools in her area over the past ten years.

Jane Doty MacKenzie
is the General Manager for Global Workforce Development for Chevron.  In this role, she is responsible for enterprise-wide programs and processes ranging from new employee on-boarding, performance management, career development, leadership development, and executive succession management.  In prior positions, she was responsible for leading the global HR efforts for Chevron’s Technology and Services Companies and for Chevron’s Global Marketing business.  Her earlier career years were spent in environmental research, process engineering, strategic and investment planning, as well as change management for large-scale information technology projects.  Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

 Lyn Gomes is a mechanical engineer. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. She has been a volunteer with the Techbridge program for the past eight years. She has also co-authored numerous papers and co-presented with Techbridge at statewide and national conferences. She was head of outreach and ran the annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day program with her former employer, Carollo Engineers, for the past five years. Lyn won Girls Inc. of the Island City's Women Who Dare award for her outreach efforts. She is a licensed professional engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional. Lyn also enjoys showing off her latest outreach tool - a motorized Barcalounger - to show young women that they too can be engineers.

Linda Kekelis is the Executive Director of Techbridge. As an advocate of girls' engagement in science, technology, and engineering, Linda has been a Principal Investigator on five NSF-funded projects that have supported out-of-school programs for girls and training and resources for role models. She has translated research into practical applications for parents, teachers, and role models. She serves on numerous panels and advisory boards for programs designed to increase the participation of females in technology and engineering. Linda also has conducted research on children with special needs and has published resources to promote the development of children who are visual impaired. She has a Master's degree in Linguistics from the University of Southern California and a Doctorate in Special Education from the University of California, Berkeley.

 Laurel Lee is a Director of Marketing at Blackboard, Inc., where she is responsible for all marketing programs supporting the Connect platform for the Government vertical. Prior to joining Blackboard, she worked as Marketing Group Director at KLM Marketing Services, a San Francisco-based agency serving Fortune 500 IT companies. Previously, she was at Sun Microsystems for nine years directing marketing efforts in Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the emerging markets in EMEA. Her early career was focused on education, instructional design and corporate training. Laurel holds an M.A., Ed., in Instructional Technology from San Jose State University.


Luci Morris-Tyndall has over 35 years of management experience, including as Chief Information Officer of Swinerton, Inc. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology. Over the years, Luci has provided executive coaching services, implemented new programs, and overseen multi-million dollar construction projects.  She has also managed Information Technology and Project Controls for a Top 40 ENR contracting firm; Luci also served on the Board of Directors and was part of the Executive Committee for this firm.  Her current passions include keeping children and young adults interested in math and science as well as working with seniors. Luci currently works part-time for a small non-profit organization focused on senior issues.  She was recently appointed to the Tuolumne County Commission on Aging.

Reena Singhal Lee is a Staff Technical Account Manager at Google on the Android engineering team. Prior to Google, Reena worked at Intel Corporation, as a Staff Engineer. Reena is an active leader in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), previously serving as the National Program Development Grants Committee Chair and National Scholarship Committee Chair; she was the recipient of SWE’s Distinguished New Engineer Award in 2009. Reena received her BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a Minor in Biomedical Engineering, from Carnegie Mellon University, and her MBA degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas-Austin. Reena has volunteered with Techbridge, co-presenting workshops at national conferences and sharing experiences in STEM outreach with both professional and collegiate women in technology and engineering.
